Freshwater and the Blue Economy

Drs. Rebek and Aziz, Alejandra Pacasqua (Columbia), and others are working to understand the local freshwater and blue economy. 

This research primarily investigates community attitudes, opportunities and barriers to a flourishing blue economy. It takes an Indigenous approach to solve the concerns around sustainability for local fresh water. Especially considering the vast amount of local fresh water in Canada, it becomes critical that with our ever-growing population, we properly manage such a valuable resource.
